Christopher Komeda is the greatest Polish composer and jazz pianist, creator of film music. It is an Icon of Polish culture. A pioneer of modern jazz in Poland. He wrote music for 65 films. His most recognizable work is the music for Roman Polański’s film „Rosemary’s Baby”, recorded in 1968.
Few or even no English-language publications about Komeda have resulted in TwinS working with a Japanese partner on a new, interestingly released album containing the most comprehensive discography, history of his work and unpublished documents. He gained the greatest popularity as a composer and co-author of the successes of the most famous Polish fusion group – Walk Away. Precision and expressive expression quickly became his trademarks. From the beginning, he was also known for his interest in blues, giving concerts with various bands of musicians exploring this area of music. He doesn’t shy away from gospel, swing and rock. At the same time, he is invited as a performer of theater, film and oratorio music.
His versatility, reliable craftsmanship and inventiveness made him a valued guest at concerts of other bands and recording studios. His achievements include over 60 recorded albums and hundreds of concerts in various parts of the world. He is known for his boundless energy, so his appearance on stage is always a guarantee of new experiences for the audience.
One of his most appreciated formations is the trio with which he created perhaps the album of his life, „Triologue”, for Polonia Records.
